PART TWO:

 Read: American Voices, Axalla John Hoole: "Bleeding Kansas": A Southern View in Chapter 13 of the text. After reading the document, write a brief paragraph-length response to each of the following questions. As this series of letters demonstrates, ordinary people came to "Bleeding Kansas" for a mix of reasons. A Southern proslavery advocate, Axalla John Hoole records his impressions during the fiery days of 1856 to 1857, when simply surviving attacks and counterattacks often took precedence over trying to build a new life.
